Tajo river is the longest river in the Iberian peninsula. It follows an east-west course, with a slight inclination towards the southwest. It is 1.007 km long and its surface is 80.600 km². Its tributaries are Jarama, Guadarrama and Alberche.

Jarama river is one of the most important tributaries of the Tajo. It runs by the province of Guadalajara and the Community of Madrid and its main tributaries are, by the right margin, the rivers Lozoya, Guadalix and Manzanares, and on the left, the Jaramilla, the Henares and the Tajuña. Its is 190 km long.

Guadarrama river borns in the Community of Madrid, furrows in its course under the province of Toledo. The area of its basin is 1.708 km² and it is 131,80 km long. The tributarie of Guadarrama is the Aulencia river.
